DIY Maleficent Inspired Cosplay Costume!

Maleficent is the most classic evil in a Disney series of all time. I'm right? She made her debut in the animated version of Sleeping Beauty. Her green face and purple clothes were elegant and unpleasant.

The new live action version, Maleficent, shows the backstory of Maleficent and explains why it became so popular. He is a young fairy with wings, and through love, betrayal and revenge, he becomes the villain we see in the movie. She has the iconic swirling horns, but her attire is slightly different and mostly black.

This is the perfect Halloween costume or Disney style cosplay! This costume was made in 2015 but is still a favorite!

“But, as many believed, every time they saw a graceful image floating in the air, it required a great hero and a terrible villain to embody it. And his name was Maleficent.

The movie Maleficent was so much fun to watch just because of the costumes! I knew we needed to recreate a lot of parts!

My wonderful brother-in-law was my muse. She has beautiful cheekbones on their own, so it wasn't a headache.

First, headdresses and branches:
I used FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam to make the branches. He draws a pattern on 2-inch foam and starts sculpting it with his useful knife. Read more about pruning branches in this post.

Cut out the vinyl circle and add a small gap that crosses the center line towards the center.

Then glue them together and heat up to the point of the foam branch. Wrap the remaining branch with 2-inch strips of felt.

Cut long strips of vinyl about 2 inches long. Fold one end over and glue with hot glue. This thermally bonded edge creates the edges of a twisted branch. Then glue the edge onto the hot glue and start twisting the branch from the vinyl covered point.

Continue gluing and wrapping each branch.

Apply the vinyl slowly, but be careful not to break the horns.

At the base of the branches, cut the vinyl into sheets.

Put a bandage on your head and mark with a marker where the branches should be. Then wrap the tiles around the metal headband and hot glue them.

Then make holes in the top of the hat. The holes were about 4 inches high, and branches slid through them. Cover the inside strip.

Then, heat-glue the cap around the branches to keep them from moving.

Then cut off a long piece of elastic material. This part is hard to explain and needs to be done while using it. I cut a hole in the fabric and while my daughter was wearing a headband, I tied her to a branch.

Then he circled back and forth ... then he made another hole and put it on another branch while he wore it. I'd rather take it one step further... it was very stressful.

With a small snakeskin triangle, tie it to your forehead with chewing gum! The stretch material is simply folded and worn over the back like a turban. Make sure you gather all your hair so that your head is flat and not bulky.

Below we decided to complement the winter coat with a leather collar! Halloween is a great place to live, so putting extra clothes on your costume is a genius move.

Make a U-shaped paper necklace. Wear it around your neck to measure the size. Then cut into 2 pieces of faux leather.

Gather the sides of the stairs and sew on all sides except the inside.

Because the waist is open, the necklace is easy to take off.

Then use some hard vinyl horns to create a support. It is about 18 inches wide and 5 inches high. Well wrapped in one of the long sides.

Cover the vinyl along the hairline and sew up the opening.

Then tie a leather necklace to the black tunic and pull the hair over the front of the cape. Attach accessories to safety pins. Thus, the gown remains usable for other purposes. Perfection!

Okay, my sister has beautiful blue eyes on top, but she added some touch lenses to add something amazing. Also great makeup! These are great photos!

My job was easy! Makeup is the finishing touch to any costume. Use the relief and contour of the cheeks for the surface!
