Retro Craft: Vintage Resin Lucite Grapes DIY

Do you know wine with a bitter taste? ANNOUNCEMENT. In the 1950s, women did just that ... It was funny to see a bunch of grapes in the old man's house. It is often referred to as Lucite wine. I thought it was the perfect craft to be inspired and create my own collection. My mother-in-law has a purple tint, but I decided to stick with blue and green. I'm obsessed with the blues. If you can not predict!

Start by removing jewelry decorations. Twist the holes over the egg bowl. I used foil decorations in the mirror ... So when I took out my glass, there was silver foil left over.

If you do not like the silver effect, use clear glass. Apply the product on each piece of jewelry and work your way inside.

Fill the jar with water and pour it into the measuring cup ... This will tell you how much juice each scoop holds. Each of them weighed just over 1 ounce. I mix about 6 ounces of bitumen at a time so I can mix different colors. Mix the glue according to package instructions. Mix 1 part asphalt and 1 part hardener, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Then pour the mixed glue into the second cup and use a new stirrer for another 1 minute.

Then add some green dots and one or two blue dots. I made some black blends and some lights ... some green and some blue. The variety of flowers in my vineyard is wonderfully pleasant. Mix the paint well before pouring.

After mixing, slowly pour the resin into each bowl. Then throw slowly and try to push the glue up to the ball, but not up to the neck ... or later you will need a grinder to remove them.

Keep filling with the same colorful ornaments. Then stand for 24 hours without load. I mixed the glue several times to fill all 18 decorations with the entire 32 ounce box.

The next day, break down 2 gems at the bottom of the box. Put on gloves, goggles again and work outside or in the garage. The glass in these decorations was broken as shown below.

They break jewelry with a bump, and glass breaks easily. However, I did have some strong points that I had to get rid of with a small spatula. Then wash them all with warm soapy water.

See how many silver sheets are left as a result? Anyway, at least I did not go down without explaining myself first ... but I also liked the result!

I then sent my son to the garage to get rid of the scratches and I drilled a 1 "hole in every 6" ball. Then push through a few strands, then add a few drops of super glue.

Then thread the wire through the hole and fasten the remaining wire tightly to the branch.

Now make holes as needed and continue to add rennet beads. Finally, cover the jar with wine while you work.

Then add colored bituminous balls and fill in the blanks. Keep the resin as low as possible up to the stem and remove it slowly as it moves ... giving it that distinctive wine look.

The color scheme is especially impressive - I love bright watercolors! Great, right? ! It's just a time machine going back to the 1950s! I like to bring the art of wine entertainment to life.
