Resin Pour Geode Glitter Canvas DIY

DIY Geode Glitter Canvas for Resin

Pour the geode resin onto the canvas and add some glitter to make the wall look perfect. Resembling a rending geode, this stunning resin-filled canvas showcases a shimmering crystalline layer. Create unique murals with the geode fill technique and lots of glitter.

My favorite color is blue. I love all shades of blue! As a result, blue is present in most of the designs I create. What is your favorite color? What color will your geode glow?

REQUIRED ACCESSORIES FOR APPLYING GEODE RESIN:

Mixing cup, mixing stick, disposable gloves, disposable work surface, small mixing cup

Stretched canvas is a great surface to work on, but the canvas can sag due to the weight of the resin. Find a board or box that will fit the canvas and hold its shape while you work with the resin.

Step 1: Mix the resin

Start by reading the instructions for mixing the resin. No matter how many times I've used it in the past, I reread the instructions every time. Mix one part resin and one part hardener in a bowl.

Set the timer for 2 minutes and mix thoroughly, scraping and gluing the sides periodically. Then decant the resin into a second mixing cup and use a new mixing stick for another 1 minute.

Step 2: Add color

Then pour some resin into a smaller cup. Add a few drops of clear dye and opaque white pigment.

Leave some clear resin in the mug.

Step 3: Filling

Begin by pouring the clear resin into small circles. This is the center of the geode and is very visible.

Then pour a ring of colored resin around the clear center ring.

Add more resin rings until you're worried about covering every part of the canvas.

Then put some glitter in the clear resin cup. Also sprinkle glitter on different rings.

With a gloved hand, lift the canvas and tilt it so more resin spreads and covers the canvas.

Don't tilt too much to avoid damaging the shape of the geode.

It looks really good now that the glittery and translucent colors fill the canvas.
But it's not over yet! Mix another cup of resin in two steps as before. Pour the clear resin into a small bowl and add an opaque pigment instead of a translucent dye.

Then pour the colored resin into the ring onto the translucent resin. This gives the geode depth and a natural look. Sprinkle glitter onto individual rings around the canvas, leaving some areas sparkly and others blank.

Complete all the resin and then use the magic wand to drip the white resin around the ring. I love this look. Maybe put it aside and stop here!

Or take it a step further and give it a more natural look. Use a hot stamping tool to pop the bubbles and cover the edges with white resin.

Then set the canvas aside to dry overnight. Make sure the resin is laying on a flat surface as the resin will smooth out on its own once it dries.

Once the canvas is dry, sand down any stains that form on the underside of the canvas and hang it up for all to see. The spark sparkled like a crystal in the light.

There she is! Like and share!
