How to Stencil a Doormat with Cricut

How to design a dormitory with cricket!

Yes, you can create stencils with Cricut! Learn how to use a cricket to create a porch or a sleeping rug in this fun tutorial. There is nothing more fun and attractive on your porch than a personalized DIY playmate.

This ambiguity is clever, depending on which side it is, say "enter" or "move".

I wanted to write "hello" or "hello" on the rug, but I asked my 12-year-old what she wanted. He said he saw one online that was so cool that it could be read both ways. So I copied it. just for him. He is very proud.

Required accessories for the dormitory with the model:

straight pen
rough mat (that's exactly what I used, but it looks good too )

Step 1: Create a freezer mold with Cricut

Start by cutting a piece of freezer paper to fit a 12" x 24" lightweight grip mat, place it on the mat with the shiny/waxed side facing the sticky mat. Upload the image to Cricket Design Space and resize it to 23.5 inches. Then put the rug inside and cut out the freezer paper.

Step 2: Warm up the EasyPress Mini

Plug the EasyPress Mini into the highest temperature setting and heat it up.

Step 3: Save the stencil

Now carefully remove each cut letter from the freezer paper and discard it. We only use the outer space for the stencil.

Make sure to keep the characters inside!

This is what the stencils should look like. Some of the stencils you want to draw on the end will disappear.

Then carefully remove the freezer paper from the rug and place it on the rug. Use the EasyPress Mini to warm up freezer paper and "stick" the mats in places. The waxy surface of freezer paper melts and adheres easily to fabric.

If you use this technique on a T-shirt, it is very easy. Since this rug has a textured texture, it does not fit perfectly. Pin it down and hold the freezing paper on the mat with a straight pen.

Then add in the middle of the letter. Click it and then install it.

Step 4: Draw the rug

Now it's time to paint! Use a stencil brush and paint. Hold the template with your non-dominant hand while drawing. Use a straight up and down method so that the paint does not press under the stencil.

Fill the entire area with color and then clean the brush.

After cleaning the brush and before the paint dries, remove the freeze paper from the sleeping mat.

Unveil a beautifully printed patio rug!

Now you can create as many custom dorms as you want. Start a business, make gifts or just beautify the yard.

The only question is: Invite the guests, or tell them to go!?
