Well, look in your closet, run to the grocery store, or go to a garage sale and pick up a leather, leatherette, or leatherette jacket.

Plastic leather is an ideal surface, as it does not absorb paint inside. But the same method can be applied to canvas shoes, denim jackets, and other porous surfaces.

Materials needed to draw PlaidFX on a leather jacket:

  • Leather or leather jacket for recycling
  • PlaidFX paints in various colors and finishes

Lay the film down on your work surface and get ready to paint. I only dye the backs of jackets, but feel free to style the sleeves and the front!

Start by opening the Plaid FX lid and removing the seal. Then dip a round brush into the paint and touch it to the back of the jacket.

The round brush is ideal for petals and leaves. Just press the brush harder on the thicker parts and lift the thinner parts. Practice on paper if you're nervous...or use it like me!

Draw a wreath using the round shape as a guide. You can carefully draw a circle on the lid with chalk if you need instructions.

I like painting cheap flowers because they are very forgiving. Just draw some loose petal circles, leaving some space in the background.

Add ferns and compound leaves as you continue the round garland towards the back of the leather wrap.

Let the paint dry a little, and then add bright or metallic colors to the flowers and leaves to give them depth.

Now add yellow centers, pollen dots and other small elements to complete the crown shape. Once you are happy with the flowers, let them dry completely.

Stage six: the power of the word!

Now choose a strong word you like and write it in the center of the flower wreath. You choose Rockstar! Use a brush and write with your writing for perfect strength. If you're nervous, use the chalk again to draw it first.

I used metallic gold for the letters.

Step 7: Finishing touches!

Coated with layers of glossy lacquer and/or black lacquer. Then let the wrap dry completely overnight.

The gloss varnish appears as a milky white color and then dries clearly. Fearless.
After the wrap is dry, it does not need to be covered with anything. It's ready to wear! Remains flexible and should not crumble!
