Materials needed to decorate cupcakes for Valentine's Day:
paper straws
thread out of work
Paper heart (or cricket or scissors)
hot glue gun
Rainbow paper, gold or metal
Step 1 for cupcake toppers:
Start with about 4 inches between the 2 straws and knit the yarn over the 2 straws.
Step 2 for the cupcake toppers:
Then glue the heart piece with thread... and glue the other heart piece behind the heart.
Step 3: Get creative with cupcake toppers
Now, use all your creativity to make some cupcake toppers! Make them with just one straw...various counts of yarn...or lengthen them to cover the entire cake.
This three heart cake is for the Big Bund cake. I love colorful paper that glitters in the light!
I made a dozen cupcake toppers in just a few minutes. They are easy to make and create such an effect for parties!
Step 4: Place the top of the cupcake on top of the cake.
Adhere the paper tube to the cupcake at a slight angle so the heart hangs perfectly over the frosting.
Then repeat the cupcakes with the paper straw cupcake toppers.
