I love bright colors and cheerful spring flowers, especially in dreary winters. You can choose any color you like.
Step 1: paint the base
Paint the wood antique white.
I like the slightly white color, it helps to get a colored look rather than a "primer". Apply a thin coat of paint to the entire wood base and let dry. Then apply another layer of color over the base.
Layers of paint can dry out when making flowers from felt and cutting vinyl. Take advantage of this time!
Step 2: How to make felt flowers
Let's start with a yellow fringed flower:
Start by cutting out a long 2x8" yellow felt belt.
Then glue with hot glue and fold in half to make a long tube. Then cut off every 1/4" about 1/4" from the glued edge.
Continue cutting the length of the tube until the entire felt tube is folded.
Then use hot glue and fold the fabric to make a small yellow bean bag. It is excellent as a standalone flower or as a floral centerpiece.
I used it as a standalone flower.
Step 3: How to make a felt flower?
Now we are going to make a big flower with petals.
For the next flower, cut out 6 felt circles and glue them around the felt ball for a perfect flower. The petals only slightly overlap each other, which gives it a natural look.
Step 4: How to make a rose from felt?
And finally, the perfect rose. For a tutorial on roses, click on this unicorn planting post for full instructions and photos.
Cut off a piece of felt about 4 inches. Then, starting at the outer edge, cut out the spiral in the center of the circle.
Then twist the spiral, starting at the outer edge, keeping the heat in as you go. Increase the length of the spiral, then glue it to the fabric circle to keep everything secure.
Step 5: How to make felt sheets
To add volume to the bouquet, use florist wire about 4 inches long. Using hot glue, glue a green leaf shape to each edge and secure around the wire in the middle.
Don't worry if hot glue comes out, it looks like morning dew!
Fold the thread in half and make a few turns.
Step 6: Cut out the vinyl text
Stop celebrating with a flower to stick vinyl on a wood plank. Use a Cricut Maker or other cutting machine to cut the metal vinyl to size.
Attach the greeting to the top of the wooden plank. My simple hello!
Remove the transfer paper and you are now ready to glue the flowers onto it.
Step 7: Lay Out the Felt Flowers
Arrange the wonderful felt flowers as you wish. Put felt balls on it. Fasten the threads under the flowers so that the leaves are slightly raised.
Once you've positioned it the way you want, glue each piece in place.
Is an!
Less than an hour and this panel is just perfect! It will be a great help on a gray day. This cute sign would make a great spring decoration, a seasonal decoration like Easter, or even a name to decorate a room.
