Victorian Ghost Children Halloween Photograph Editing Tutorial
Halloween Photography Editing Tutorial for Kids with Victorian Spirit
There is nothing scarier than the cruel children of the Victorian era. This is a fun way to capture ghosts on camera! This is a great photo shoot, one of my favorite projects with my kids.
That lazy umbrella and that swinging pocket watch... these kids sure know how to create a spooky look in a quiet setting. This interesting post has been updated since 2012. I won this photo editing contest and won the first iPad.
When you see these images you will hear the laughter of the children in the forest. Remember the moment when their sad faces were lost.
These photos are drab, creepy, and perfect decorations for Halloween.

First, 376 photographs had to be taken. So let's go back. I explained to my kids what I wanted to do…kids ages 10, 8 and 4 were all on board… amazing. I have great children.
Step one: clothes!
Children wear "old" clothes. The easier it is, the better.
The kids used warm ribbons attached to a safety pin for this shot. The boys had a vest, which was the ideal attire for church. And do you think I have this dress in my closet for my son? Like school uniforms and tight dark gray clothes.
After that, we have a few things. Antique keys, antique pocket watches and lace umbrellas.
Then we turned around. I've seen some of the most beautiful places ...and a little graveyard a mile away. In front of us. (yes we walk, my kids are amazing...and we are a 1 car family)
Once the location is chosen, mount the camera on the tripod and leave it undisturbed. Get the kids ready in the picture and take a photo or two.
Then keep the camera in the right position during the ride and let the kids behind the camera get out of the picture. It only captures a background image.
Halloween photo shoot is great!
The best thing about this photo shoot was not having to make all my kids laugh at once! I told them to apologize a little... and we got some great photos!
Step 3 Photo Correction
This time, reward your children with good things and movies! They earn it!
Now I'm usually a Photoshop woman. I've been using it since high school... I think Cave People invented Photoshop for PC. Nevertheless. I decided to try pixlr ... and I loved it! It's free... big bonus! And it basically works like Photoshop, so it didn't take me long to figure it out. So if you are always looking for a good photo editor, give it a try!

The download process is easy and you can see both images side by side.
Now you have 2 levels. Then on the top cover (with people) Select this little carrot to toggle the layer settings
This will open the opacity bar. That's the fun part. Use the cursor to make people look like ghosts! Each image is different. I took some clarity only 60% and only 73% of others.
Next, you want to look at the covers and make sure they line up as accurately as possible. Not always very well, but it gives you a sense of accomplishment.
Then uninstall the images... You can also use sepia sound effects or old photos.
Repeat this several times until you have your photo! We edit a lot of photos! We printed them at Walmart in 1 hour, decorated them with cards for family and friends, and the entryway wall!
It helps if you decorate the vintage frame...a bit creepy! I love how they add Halloween decorations to Spokane.
Since these photos were taken in 2012 and are almost 9 years old, these photos are a cherished memory of the time! During my years in North Carolina, I want to see my little ones as terrifying reminders of their childhood.
If you find a family headstone and photograph it there, it will be an interesting family history lesson. It's scary having your last name on your tombstone.
Very good, no! ? These kids were hardcore, walking miles and miles, wearing fancy clothes, and getting their picture taken in this fun photo shoot.
I have really cool kids. And really, I want to recreate and reproduce this recording. You may find a creepy street or an abandoned house! What do you think?
