Upcycled Rolled Paper Frame DIY Craft!

Recycled paper frame!

This frame is visually stunning with lots of textures and vibrant colors! However… there is a deeper danger. It was the saddest and longest project I had ever asked my kids to do. It came out amazing, vibrant colors and amazing shape... but it was the saddest project I've ever done! Be careful and act carefully!

It all started that way. I had been planning this boat for a long time and my husband was out of town, so it seemed like time to implement my plans. My almost 12 year old son said, "Hey mom, can I play Diablo?" And I said, "Yes, but first help me with this project."

the last words are known.

Similarly, I convinced my 10-year-old daughter to play the game...so all members of the cat family worked together. Except for the 5-year-old boy who came and went and distributed everything. (Lucky devil) We started this adventure at 4:02 pm... and we clicked the last part at 8:49 pm. Skip dinner entirely! Don't worry, we had a Matisse marshmallow at 9:00 pm (Note: I won't do this again)

But we've been through it all:

The brave princess Barbie, frozen and on her way to destroy Ralph. Just do it:

It's a great way to recycle old magazines, paper the kids brought home from school... or trash! We also added Astrobrights paper for glitter.

You will need: (affiliate links)

(Reuse the one you have on hand, or buy one to remake at a craft store. My advice: think small!)
(You can use scissors...but that will mess up this project even more)
(You can use glue...but it will make this project more absorbent)
  • Whether it's a winder or a toothpick
 (just wrap something in paper)
  • Body paint / spray paint
  • Time... a long time. And movies to play in the background... or audiobooks!

Let's get started... well... how did I convince you to do it yourself? Ha ha ha. Start by cutting the paper in half with a paper cutter.

Magazine cutouts and paper Astrobrothers!

Now fold all these strips in half. Fun, right?

We use skates to start skating and then move on to mostly toe spinning.

Alternate magazine and strips of paper. With the help of masking tape, we stick extra strips... and finally, we stick the masking tape to ourselves if we are satisfied with the size.

And again!

At this point...point of no return...maybe surgery time...we thought we were rocking! They looked great and we removed them! We did 8 of them and they are great! Go ahead and make them in different sizes.

I then placed them in a spray painted frame... oh. This absorption will take a long time!

Do not give up! It might be fun to meet the family! Everyone can sit, ride, chat... Lots of hands making easy work!

Hayley got tired of riding her bike so she just folded the strips...which made it easy for me to fold and use the already folded strips...all I had to do was create the system as efficiently as possible.

Half way! In another movie!

We decided to hot glue it while we work...no chance of the tape on this thing succumbing and breaking!

Plus, it allowed us to make tangible progress! He could scream right then!

Last time we made very small rolls to fit in the slots. But we wanted tea-colored paints, and we got tired anyway!

strange, right? !!! It's really worth it.. right? !!

I really like the frame! Until I figured out what to put in there... how much could it cost all this time? Maybe a wedding photo? Maybe a diamond!

It does not look very good. The children were very proud of their achievement! It was like an industrial marathon!

Maybe we should color it and decorate it like my daughter made this frame for me for Mother's Day!

After a whole night it's over!
