I love birthdays! I feel like I get better with age. I love!

I told a funny story about my birthday yesterday: if you missed it, go read ... and today I have another one!

When I turned 17, I was afraid people would forget it was my birthday. It's been a week since my mom passed away and I needed more love and attention. I went to school that day and told everyone in the hallways it's my birthday.

Hey guess what? Today is my birthday! I greeted everyone I saw and asked them to praise me. It was long before the era of Facebook and social media ... so word of mouth was the only way to attract attention or take notes!

That night I had to go to a (pretty boring) Boy Scout dinner with my dad because my mom had just died again and needed her plus 1 ... so I spent my birthday with my dad. I had a lot of fun with him and I'm glad I was able to help him too, he definitely went through the loss of his beloved wife.

When I get home that evening, I find a table full of chocolates, flowers, soft toys, etc. waiting for me.

Of course I told him it's my birthday and a lot of kids were playing at school while I was away and handing out presents! It was a pleasant surprise!

Oh man, I like my attention! Very extroverted!
