I love birthdays! I feel better as I get older. I love him!

I shared a funny birthday story yesterday - read it if you missed it... and today I have another one!

When I was 17, I was afraid people would forget my birthday. It's only been a week since my mother passed away, and she needed more love and attention. I went to school that day and told everyone in the hall that it was my birthday.

Hey you know today is my birthday! I saluted everyone I saw and praised them. That was long before the days of Facebook and social media...so word of mouth was the only way to get attention or get the word out!

That night I had to go to a (very boring) Boy Scout dinner with my dad because my mom had just died and he needed a Plus 1...so I spent my birthday with my dad. I had a great time with her, I am glad I was able to help her, and no doubt she felt the loss of her beloved husband.

When I got home that night, I saw a table full of chocolates, flowers, and stuffed animals. waiting for me

Apparently, most of the boys I told about my birthday at school took action during my visit and gave me gifts! It was a fun surprise!

Oh man, I love my attention! He is very moody!!!

And I love drawing!
