Disney Maleficent Costume Halloween Cosplay Staff DIY.

The movie "Maleficent" is very interesting. The costumes are amazing and every element is filled with textures, layers and depth. Can I just say I like the costumes more than the movies themselves? This iconic villain has the most adorable stick ever.

This is an absolutely necessary accessory for any fan of Halloween or cosplay costumes. We will show you how to make the perfect cane for the action movie Maleficent or the old classic Sleeping Beauty. Make a lighted Maleficent scepter with the Diaval raven on top!

I built it 4 years ago and it is still a hit!



The staff is presented in a bright bluish-green hue wrapped in twig-like twigs.


Normal! perfect staff!

Materials needed:

Wooden handle (about $ 4)
feather raven
plastic poly
Battery-burning candle dollar store
Round Vase / Top (purchased from an item store for $ 1)


First, the backlight mechanism. Start by removing the lighted candle.



Hold the battery connected to the switch and LED indicator.



Drill a hole in the top of the peg and sideways so that they meet in the middle. Then gently stretch the light with a bent wire in the shape of a "needle".


Use hot glue and stick the flashlight and battery in place. Then place the vase on top of the light rod. It's a little loose, but quite perfect! hit hot.


Then check and make sure the light is still working.


After that, heat 2 cups of water in a glass jar in the microwave. Then add a few tablespoons of Polly Plastic. It changes color from white to bright ... and is ready to take shape.

Get it out of the water and it is incredibly easy to touch and sculpt! Beware, it is still hot.



Form plastic braid branches and adhesive tentacles from peg to vase.


Allow to cool completely, after which it will change color again to white plastic.



Secure each area with hot glue. Then draw! Paint the whole rod black to make it lighter. Then I used a brush and brown / black paint for the branching details.


So far so good! If you make a cane without a crow, you are done! That would make him a great magician or sorcerer ... but to be truly Maleficent, you need a partner, Diaval!


Then stick those little crow legs on top of the stick! It is incredibly durable! When the glue dries, paint it the right color. Very simple!
