Just a little 2019 recap
Hello friend! Happy New Year! I wish everyone happy and safe holidays.
Literally a few days ago I took the final exams at the university, which means that I will be free from homework for a few weeks. But as you probably already know, I'll be moving soon, which means I'll have to spend most of my time packing and organizing. There aren't too many dolls...until it's time to move home. And also I have comics, funkos, legos... as well as "real life" things like clothes, kitchen stuff... I've moved a few times but this is my first "real move". furniture and lots of stuff. The next time I move, I only have to pick up clothes and a few more things because I always move into a furnished house. In any case, we will get through this.
Despite the stress, I wanted to sit down for a bit to sum up 2019 and talk a bit about my plans for 2020. One of the highlights of 2019 was the new bloggers (for me) I met. ": Xanadu , DollsDolour , Sharon , and YéYé . Many of the great bloggers I've met over the years are no longer active, but I'm excited to find new people who are still interested in blogging.
I'm also very proud of the content I created in 2019. As usual, I didn't have enough time to write all the planned posts, but overall I'm happy with what worked. I've mainly focused on backgrounds for doll photography, which I found interesting, especially now that Instagram seems to be capturing the world of dolls. I definitely want to do some related projects, especially since I've been thinking about it since September, but I want to do something different. Not long ago My Froggy Stuff did something called Infinity Room and I wanted to do that too. And 352 years in a row I promised to learn to sew, but we all know how it used to be ...
As far as health goes, I'm generally fine, but remember this post ? I mentioned that I had eczema which eventually went away. Well it didn't work out, it got worse. Eventually I had to go to the intestines who gave me an ointment that helped with my scaly hands but didn't go away entirely. I can also have psoriasis, which is not a problem but is uncomfortable. He also sent me to the allergy department to check if I have an allergy that is causing eczema on my hands. I've had some allergy tests done, but I'm still waiting for my "contact allergy" test. I could put off my craft project for a while and may need to get used to working with gloves first.
There's little news on the pop front as I haven't bought anything for a long time. To be honest, I'm not that enthusiastic about the new releases because I find most of them a bit obscene. I love the Chriselle Lim doll but apparently Mattel decided not to sell it in Europe so I had to consider paying more than $20 for shipping. The BMR1959 doll...not really my cup of tea, but I really appreciate that they finally gave us Ken's Made to Move body. I just don't want to buy any more dolls, only dolls that really speak to me. I think I'd rather focus on what I need to get crazy with when buying a new one, especially if I think I need to save money to furnish my new home. I also have a lot of old dolls that need to be disassembled.
It's been 7 years this year since I started blogging. I just bought my first two Monster High dolls and was inspired by another Monster High collector who also has a blog. I feel like blogs are slowly dying and people aren't as interested in reading them as they used to be, but I don't want to stop blogging because I enjoy it. I love to write, it takes my mind off bad things and helps me organize my ideas. When I started my English was very rusty and I couldn't speak well, but it pushed me to learn more vocabulary and find ways to speak better. In addition, I "met" many great people from all over the world and learned a lot not only about dolls.
Anyway, today is a big surprise for me. I hope you have a good and happy 2020. I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
