Island in the Sun Reflective Iron-On Vinyl Running Shirt DIY
Iron shirt on reflective vinyl with his own hands
I like Wieser's song "Island in the Sun." I remember driving down the street in Salt Lake City in 2002 when I first heard the song on the radio.
Isn’t it funny how music can transport you between time and space? This is a favorite year after year, so why not the theme of my running shirt. This running shirt is made of reflective iron vinyl, so it reflects light headlights when I run in the dark.
Yes, I started running again in early August. I went with one or two friends for about two years and then decided I needed to climb stairs and run on breaks.
It was great and I think I’m getting stronger and more stable! Reflective shirts or jackets are very important when running in the dark ... like I do at 5:30. Let's take one now!

Here's how to create an image
- And you can even customize your design based on the song of your choice!Start by clicking the Shape tool on the left sidebar, select a circle, and create a large circle. They reach about 5-6 inches in size.
Then add other shapes. I wanted to create an atmosphere of an island in the sun, another circle for the sun and the island. Palm tree and beach wave were imported. Put them in the best place.
Select all the layers except the large original circle, and “insert” them together
Then select the line and welding scheme and press the "Slide" button. This will create 4 levels.
Find the level that is as you want, with the cut shape in a circle. Then remove the remaining layers.
Now add the text and select the desired font.
Then use the curved text function to round the text. Add space after the “sun” to give space at the end.
I added an asterisk * to separate the beginning and end of a sentence. Then measure around the logo you created.
Select the logo and text and paste together.
Then resize to the desired shape for cutting. I chose a 9 inch diameter for the back of the racing jersey.
Turn the image over, select the material and place the vinyl iron under the front of the cutting mat and press the cutout button.
Once the cut is complete, remove the vinyl from the mattress and wipe off the excess iron. This reflective element has an extra layer that does not need to be removed. It can be easily removed during heating.
You see part of the palm tree, I’ve already removed that extra layer, which is good but heavy ... so don’t worry.
Put the iron on your shirt while sitting on the easypress mat.
Then click according to the settings offered here.
If you also have a logo on the front of your shirt, do it now. Then let the shirts cool completely. After cooling, remove the back plate ... this extra layer will come off right away.
So, the shirt is over! It is a cool white vinyl that glows with light. Here is the back of the shirt:
Here is the logo on the front of the shirt:
The perfect t-shirt for running for beginners like me! I have no plans to win a prize or set a record, but I feel good when recovering! Running shirts are also a great gift for runners, made with your own hands!
