Glitter Resin Tumbler with Cricut Vinyl DIY

Make a glitter tumbler with cricut vinyl and high gloss resin, great for a gift

Glossy resin jar using DIY Cricut vinyl

Do you already have a passion for glass? This was my first time and I love the intense glow! Make a sparkling cup as the perfect handmade gift ... great for school teachers, friends or family.

Personalize them with your favorite colors or names and bright intensity. It's a great reminder to drink plenty of water every day ... or ideal for a hot drink on a cold breakfast.

Shines in the sun like a lantern! Please note that this is not safe in the dishwasher ... but I still do not wash the stainless glass in the dishwasher. Just wash your hands to be safe. Let's begin!

Materials needed for gloss resin:

Chrome vinyl cutting with Cricut Maker
masking tape
wipe the alcohol
sandpaper

Step 1: Rubbing with alcohol!

First wipe the glass with alcohol.

Step 2: Adhesive tape!

Then close the top and bottom edges of the jar with blue tape.

Step 3: Shine!

Start painting the visible glass with glossy paint. Cover the jar completely and allow to dry. Then mix a little glitter with the modpod and lubricate the entire glass with it. Then let it dry completely.

Step 4: Create vinyl!

Use Cricut Maker to cut a sentence or title out of metal vinyl or food film.

Once the glass is completely dry, remove the gloss until the surface is smooth enough to stick the vinyl. Place the vinyl pieces in the glass just above the gloss.

Step 5: Turn the glasses over!

Now we need a cup station to make the resin.
The glasses are quite cheap and popular enough that you will probably only buy one! But here is an improvised version in case you want to do it yourself.

I used a long peg inserted in a cardboard box. Then a piece of noodle was placed at the bottom of the pencil.

Step 6: Resin!

Now mix the glitter resin according to the packaging instructions.

Mix well in the second step.

Now use a stirrer to apply the resin to the glass ... on the turntable. Rotate slowly and evenly for the first 30 minutes.

Here the power plant would be great! If you have a power plant, let it rotate for 4 hours and then rotate for another 4 hours. Then change the rotation and steer overnight for 24 hours in a row.

Remove any bubbles that have formed after 30 minutes of mixing with a pipette.

Then rotate the 1/4 rotation cup every minute for the next 30 minutes. Then spin every 1/4 of a spin every 2-3 minutes ... and keep spinning intermittently for the next 4-5 hours.

Once again, buying an electric lathe eliminates all of these additional temporary responsibilities.

After 5 hours, carefully examine the resin and note how hard it is. If it still looks smooth, keep rolling it ... or let it dry overnight.

Then leave overnight. The next day remove the tape.

The strip leaves a clean line, perfect for drinking or holding pitch from your lips. The resin material is food safe, so comfort is not the only problem.

This is all!

It looks amazing, though with all that glossy resin it's hard to imagine!
