Doll room update

Hello again! I'm still alive! I've been busy with real things the past few weeks and haven't had much time to work on anything pop related, but realized I might find time to come over here and give you a quick refresher on the to give life. In other words, I didn't want to leave the blog empty for so long.

As I said in my last post, we got the furniture that needed to be assembled. Although I don't find it difficult to assemble the furniture, it can take a long time and it's always better to do it in pairs. Luckily Mr. Monster is on vacation starting this week, so we had more time to get everything done. One of our priorities was our dining table as we didn't have it to begin with. After that we collected the furniture we bought for the doll/craft room.

We have a Billy bookcase from IKEA. We were already 3 people in the other house and when we moved here we found out that we can accommodate the fourth. I was lucky to have room for one more as my doll barely fits with the other 3. I will mainly be using this to store my works and furniture sizes so it will be available when I want to take photos. It's not quite organized yet, but some of these things are in a box on the floor, so best kept on a shelf.

We also got a new desk for our computers because the old one was too short and too small. This is also a popular model from IKEA (I swear this post is not sponsored by IKEA ). We chose this because you can adjust the height and adjust it yourself, and that's something my throat will appreciate. It looks very strong and sturdy. As a downside I would say that the height adjustment is quite difficult and it takes two people because it's very difficult. I wouldn't recommend this chart if you need to change elevation multiple times a day, but making it blue once a month is fine.

I said I don't have much time to work with doll stuff, but I've had some free time here and there to work on some extra pillows. I usually do this while the monster god is still asleep or very well volunteered to cook dinner. I made another white one, this time a little bigger than the first one.

I do yellow too. Everything is almost done, you just have to cover and that's the hardest part. I sew them by hand and with the latter I've noticed my stitches are smoother than when I started, which is a good sign. Haven't tried a sewing machine yet but hope to try one soon.

This isn't something I wanted to post, so it was a last minute thought. I had planned to build a doll-sized gazebo in July, but it was the end of the month and I hadn't started yet. I more or less understood the dimensions and the structure, but that means sawing and again I failed. I hope to have some time in August to work with him and take some fun pictures with a summer theme.

I also signed up for the Covid vaccination but unfortunately this date does not correspond to any treatment for my allergies. I have been receiving monthly immunotherapy injections for allergies for over a year. The only problem is that there must be an interval of 8-10 days between this treatment and any type of vaccine. I received my last allergy shot on Wednesday and today (Friday) I received a text message recording my injection for Monday's Covid. I called the local hospital and asked for an appointment. The lady I spoke to wasn't very helpful and told me "don't go to a meeting and they'll give you a new one." What worries me is that there's no guarantee the same won't happen the next time I receive it. On Monday I go to the vaccination center and explain my situation, maybe the people who work there will help me. We will keep you informed.

(Update Monday: I got vaccinated. Everyone at the vaccination site was very helpful and I spoke to a doctor who made sure there was no risk after being treated for allergies for a year and not having any arm pain. The nurse was too very helpful and asked me to stay longer in the waiting room just in case.)

But other than that minor concern, things are going well. We're almost done assembling the furniture and I hope to be able to work on some dolls again soon. We're in the middle of the heat, so we're trying to keep as cool as possible while we work.

I hope you are all safe and healthy

SM
