DIY Halloween Tree Ornaments with Crow Topper on Blue Tree
DIY Halloween tree decoration with a raven statue on a blue tree
I love Halloween, but I've never decorated a Christmas tree for Halloween. It was a fun challenge that added a lot of fun and unforgettable vacation spirit to our home.I created this tree for Treetopia 's DIY Queen's and Kings Halloween Tree series in 2018 and I think it should be shared again this year. Have you ever planted a tree for something other than Christmas? It's a lot of fun ... and strangely addicting!
I share it as part of the creative Halloween crafts!
Let me show you what I made with this blue Christmas tree!

First, there was a short list of trees available for this campaign. The white tree I really wanted was already selected. I chose this blue tree because it was "thin" and suited my home better ... and actually turned out much better than the white tree.
Also, blue and orange are complementary colors, so it makes sense ... plus I'll have a nice Christmas tree in a few months.
The tree consists of 3 segments and is easy to attach. The socket has this awesome footswitch so you can easily turn the light on and off when needed ... it's that cool.
This blue wood needed to be softened, so I rolled it up a few times with a black net.
The decorations I received were red, gold and green. I used gold and copper spray paint and painted them to match the theme.
I bought Styrofoam pumpkins at the dollar store and also dyed them copper.
Let me show you the process of making decorations for these little skulls. You will need wire, wire cutters, small tools like an ax and plastic skulls.
Start by making a hole in the base of the skull.
Then glue the tool on the head.
Cut a 6-inch wire with wire cutters. Use the pliers to create a small loop at the end of the thread.
Then run the thread through the head of the base to the top of the skull. Then twist the other side of the yarn in the same way as before.
Leave 1.5 inches below the skull and fold the wire horizontally over the top of the skull head.
Then fold the top of the wire into a "C" shape.
Finally, slide the thread up until the loop is at the base of the skull.
Now these little decorations are ready to hang on the Christmas tree!
Fill the tree with the large decorations first, then add the small ones. Remove the dull plastic mirror and paint it gold. Then cut out a piece of black paper of the same size.
Write "Trick or Treat" on paper with a white pen and frame it. Add it to the tree with other decorations and complete the tree with spiders.
Decorate the tree with a raven full of feathers and a few blades of grass. The perfect top for that whimsical tree. I love ravens, there are hundreds of them around my house this time of year and I love their wacky cry "kar-kare".
Fill your home with other fun items! Letters, vintage frames, pumpkins and a spooky cat!
The linen skirt is perfect for finishing wood. Instead of gifts, kettles and garbage cans come in very handy. Dry ice is such a fun ghost object ... for hours!
Skulls, bottles and pumpkins: it's Halloween!
