Victorian Halloween Ghost Photo Editing Guide

There is nothing weirder than tragic Victorian children in the form of ghosts. This is a fun way to catch ghosts on camera! This is a great photo shoot, one of my favorite projects I do with my kids.

Side sheets, wavy pocket watches ... these kids know how to look crazy in a quiet environment. This funny post has been updated since it was posted in 2012. I won a photo editing contest with this post and my first iPad.

If you look at these photos, you can almost hear the laughter of children through the forest. Their sad faces were reminiscent of a long-lost era.

First, we took 376 pictures. Well, let's support us. I explained to my boys what I wanted to do ... 10 year olds, 8 year olds and 4 year olds are all on board ... great. I have the best baby.

Step One: Fashion!

Kids wear "old" clothes. The easier the better.

The boys were wearing ties that I glued during filming and had safety pins attached to their shirts. The boys wear vests, which are church uniforms. And can you believe that this dress for my daughter has her outfit? Regular school uniforms and dark gray tights.

Next we find the accessories. Antique key, vintage pocket watch and lacey umbrella.

Children dressed like kids from the Victorian age 1800's, with bow ties, pocket watch, sad faces.

Second stage: photo session

Then we moved to our neighborhood ... with hoodie and yoga pants with me. I'm looking for a big beautiful place ... and a small cemetery a mile away. In contrast to us. (Yeah, we drive, my kids are adorable ... and we're a family in the same car)

Once the position is determined, mount the camera on a tripod and do not hit it. Position the kids in the picture and take a few shots.

Then place the camera in place of the tripod, allowing the children to stand behind the camera to get out of the frame. Take pictures only as a background.

** Don't smile! **
Halloween best photoshoot!

The best thing about this photo shoot is that not all my kids have to laugh at the same time! I just told them they looked a little sad ... and we got some great photos!

Step 3. Edit your photos.

Right now, reward your kids with gifts and movies! They deserve it!

I am a Photoshop now. I've been using it since high school ... I think that's when the cavemen first discovered Photoshop for computers. But. I decided to try pixlr ... and I liked it! It's free ... there's a great bonus! And it's basically like Photoshop, so it didn't take me long to figure it out. So if you always want great photo editing software - give it a try!

The download process is simple and you can see two pictures side by side.

Then copy the photo of the person and paste it on top of the regular background image.

Now you have two levels. Then upstairs (with men) Select this short route: Toggle Layer Settings

This will bring up the opacity panel. This is the most interesting. Use the slider to show people the victims of harassment! Each picture is different. For some I have increased the opacity to 60%, for others only 73% ...

Then you want to see the layers and make sure they are aligned as much as possible. Not always very perfect, but it does make a double classic!

Then we complete the picture ... You can also use a sepia tone or a retro photo effect.

So the image looks like this normal:

Then change the color to dark brown:

Repeat as many times as you have pictures! We've changed a lot of photos! We printed it out in an hour at Walmart, made tickets for family and friends, and hung them on the entrance wall!

Useful if you have ornate antique frames ... I love how they contribute to the horror of our Halloween decorations.

These photos are a happy reminder because they were taken in 2012 and it's already been 9 years! I love seeing my scary little kids because the memories of their childhood haunt us year after year in North Carolina.

Finding a family tombstone and taking a picture of it will be a fun family history lesson. It would be nice to have your name on the tombstone.

Amazing, isn't it !? These kids are hardcore, walking mile after mile, wearing weird clothes, and forcing me to take pictures of them many times for this fun photoshoot.

I really have the best kid. In fact, I would like to completely redo this image and remove it again. Maybe I can find a haunted alley or an empty house! What do you think?

Also, check out this great video montage! This is my son, my husband released him when he was about 5 years old.

My son watched the final video when he was five years old and asked, "Where's the lightsaber?" He really hoped it was true.
