Retro Craft: Vintage Resin Lucite Grapes DIY
Retro craft: vintage DIY lucite wine
Do you know grapevines? In the fifties, this is what women want ... It is ridiculous to see wine in the homes of older women. It is often called the Lucite wine. I decided that this was the perfect craft to enjoy things and prepare myself. My mother-in-law has purple glue, but I decided to stick with the blue and green shades. I'm crazy about blue. If you still do not know!
Materials needed:
- 18 Glass Beauty (especially clear)
- Clear blue and green
- Mixing cups, mixing sticks, disposable gloves
- 16. Soft wire gauge
- Tree branches 12 inches
- Scissors / Plus
- Egg carton
- Wire drilling
Direction
Start by removing accessories from jewelry. Place them in the egg bowl by lifting the hole. I used a metal ornament in the mirror ... so when I took out the glass, a silver plate was left.
If you do not like the silver effect, use a clear glass. Insert a piece of mold oil into the interior of each piece of jewelry and rub it on the inside.
Fill the jar with water and pour it into a measuring cup ... It tells you how much liquid is in each bubble. Each of them weighed a little more than an ounce. Mix about 6 ounces of bitumen at a time to mix different colors. Mix the glue according to the packaging instructions. Gently mix 1 part glue and 1 part hardener for 2 minutes. Then pour the mixed glue into the second glass and use a new stirrer for another minute.
Then add a few green dots and one or two blue dots. I made some black and light combinations ... a little green and blue. The variety of flowers in my forest is incredibly fun. Mix the paint well before pouring.
After mixing, carefully pour the glue on each piece of jewelry. Then slowly pour the glue and try to put all the glue into the bowl, but not in the mouth ... or you will need a coffee grinder after removing it.
Continue in the same way to fill the ornaments with colorful glue. Then go out for just 24 hours. I mixed the glue several times to fill all 18 ornaments into a full 32 ounce box.
The next day, two decorations merge into the depths of the box. Put on gloves again, keep your eyes peeled, and work outdoors or in the garage. The glass of such decorations is broken, as shown in the photo below.
If they attack themselves in the jewelry, they will break and the glass is very easy to remove. Although I had hard-to-reach places, I had to clean them with a small spoon. Then wash them all off with warm soapy water.
See how much money was saved in the end? Anyway, at least I didn't go down without explaining myself first… but I also liked the result!
Then I sent my son to the garage to scrape his gloves and dig an 1-inch hole in each 6-inch wire ball. Then insert a small wire and add a few drops of super glue.
Now dig 1 / 2-1 inch holes in the tree branch. Then run the wire through the hole and secure the remaining wire tightly to the branch.
Now make holes as needed and continue to add bitumen beads. Finally, wrap the wire around the beads while working.
Then fill in the blanks by adding colored bitumen beads. Finally, close the grains as much as possible and gradually discard them as they emerge ...
The color scheme is amazing - you will love the aquamarine bright shades! Very good, right ?! It's a time machine back in the fifties! I like to renovate interesting ancient crafts.
