Resin Pour Geode Glitter Canvas DIY
Geode DIY casting resin sequin canvas
Pour the jade resin on the canvas and add the glitter to decorate the perfect walls. This stunning canvas, molded in resin, like jade with open and open layers of shiny crystals. Create a unique mural using the Zhaoda pour technique and lots of glows.
My favourite colour is blue. I love all shades of blue! So most of the designs I've created are blue. What's your favourite colour? What color will your jade be?
Ingredients needed to adjust resin detection:
Mixing Cups, Steak Sticks, Disposable Gloves, Disposable Worktops, Small Mixing Cups
Stretched canvas is a good work surface, but the canvas resin can hang under the weight. Find a board or box that fits your canvas stand and will hold its shape when you work with resin.
Step 1: Mix the resin
Start by reading the instructions for mixing the resin. No matter how many times I've used it in the past, I read the instructions every time. In a mixer, mix 1 part of resin and 1 part of hardener.
Set the countertop for 2 minutes and mix thoroughly, scrape the sides regularly and adhere well. Then, transfer the resin to a second mixing cup and mix on a new stick for another minute.
Step 2: add color
Then pour some resin into cups. Add a few drops of transparent and opaque white pigment.
Leave some pure resin in the mixing glass.
Step 3: casting
Start by soldering a small circle of clear resin. This is the center of the jade and it looks very clear.
Then pour the colored resin rings around the clear center ring.
Keep adding resin rings, don't worry about dyeing each piece of fabric at this point.
Next, add some glitter to the lightly cleaned resin cup. Pour glitter into the accent ring as well.
With your gloved hand, lift and tilt the fabric so that more resin spreads and covers the fabric.
Slight inclination, so do not distort the shape of the jaw.
Now that the glossy and transparent colors have filled the canvas, it looks pretty awesome.
But it's not over yet! Mix another glass of resin, as before, in two steps. Pour the clear resin into small mixing cups and add opaque dye instead of clear dye.
Then pour the colored resin onto the ring on top of the clear resin. It adds more depth and a kind of natural zhauda. Spread the sequins in separate loops around the fabric, leaving some parts very shiny and others empty.
Finish off all the resin, then drop the white resin around the rings with a stick. I like this aspect. Maybe put it aside and stop here!
Or take it a step further and give it a more natural look. Use a heated embossing tool to highlight the bubbles formed and squeeze the edges of the white resin.
Then set the cloth aside to dry overnight. Make sure it rests on a flat surface as the resin self-levels as it dries.
Once the fabric is dry, sand down any droplets that have formed on the bottom of the fabric and hang it up to enjoy the world. The light shines like a crystal.
