Resin Pour Geode Glitter Canvas DIY

DIY Resin Glitter Canvas

Throw a resin topographer on the canvas and add glitter for the perfect statement on the wall. This stunning resin sculpted canvas resembles a surveyor and opens to reveal layers of sparkling crystals. Create a unique mural using the geodesic casting technique and lots of glitter.

My favourite color is blue. I love all shades of blue! As a result, most of the patterns I create contain blue. What is your favorite color? What color should your guard post be?

ACCESSORIES REQUIRED FOR THE RESIN GEODE:

Mixing cups, mixing sticks, disposable gloves, disposable meters, smaller mixing cups

Stretched canvas is a good work surface, but the canvas can sag under the weight of the resin. Find a board or box that will fit the base of the canvas and hold its shape while you work with the resin.

Step 1 - Mix the Resin

First read the instructions for mixing the resin. No matter how many times I've used it in the past, I always read the instructions again. Mix one part resin and one part hardener in mixing bowl.

Set a timer for 2 minutes and mix well, periodically scraping and beating the sides. Then, transfer the resin to a second mixing cup and use a new stir stick to mix for another full minute.

Step 2: Add color

Then pour some resin into smaller cups. Add a few drops of light dyes and opaque white pigment.

Leave some clean resin in the mixing glass.

Step 3: Launch

Start by pouring a small circle of clean resin. This is the focus of the investigation and it seems very clear.

Next, pour colored resin rings around the clean center ring.

Continue adding resin rings, don't worry about covering any part of the canvas at this point.

Next, add glitter to small cups of clean resin. Also throw the sequins on different rings.

Use your gloved hands to lift and tilt the canvas to allow more resin to spread and coat the canvas.

Not too flexible so as not to distort the shape of the surveyor.

Now that the shimmering, translucent colors have filled the canvas, it really looks beautiful.
But it's not over yet! Mix another cup of resin as before in the 2-step process. Pour the neat resin into small mixing cups and add the dark pigment colors instead of the translucent color.

Next, pour the colored resin in slices over the translucent resin. It adds a lot of depth and a natural geodesic look. Spread the glitter in discreet circles around the canvas, leaving some of the areas filled with glitter and other areas exposed.

Wrap all the resin then use a stick to run the white resin around the rings. I like it. Maybe put it aside and stop here!

Or take it a step further and give it a more natural finish. Use a heat tool to remove the formed bubbles and blend the edges of the white resin.

Then set the canvas aside to dry overnight. Make sure it stays on a flat surface as the resin will self-level as it dries and hardens.

Once the canvas is dry, remove the dots that have formed on the bottom of the canvas and hang it up for the world to enjoy. The glow shimmers like crystals in the light.

That's all! Please like, pin and share!
