Yesterday I shared a fun birthday story - read this in case you missed it ... and today I have another story!
Time of the birthday story:
When I was 17, I was afraid people would forget it was my birthday. Just a week after my mom passed away, I needed a little more love and attention. I went to school that day and told everyone in the hall it's my birthday.
Hey, what are you looking at? Today is my birthday! I congratulated everyone I saw and asked them to congratulate me. It was long before Facebook and social media ... so word of mouth was the only way to get attention or take notes!
I had to go to a (very annoying) Boy Scout dinner with my dad that night because my mom died and needed a "Plus 1" ... so I spent my birthday with my dad. I had a wonderful time with her and I am glad I was able to help her, no doubt she felt the loss of her beloved husband.
When I got home that evening, I saw a table full of chocolates, flowers and stuffed animals waiting for me.
Apparently I was talking about my birthday at school, most of the boys gave me presents when I visited them! It was a fun surprise!
Oh man I like my attention! Very open-minded !!!
And I love to draw!
