Necessary Accessories for Tie-Dye Patriotic USA Flag Shirt:
lightning
cake cooling rack
plastic tablecloth
Start off:
These 2 red and blue bottles make 2 shirts.
Wet shirt:
Start washing the shirt first, but don't let it dry. Soak them in a bowl of warm water until they begin to die. Then hold to start. Lay the shirt on a closed table. The tie-dye party box has a plastic top and gloves, but I only used a plastic tablecloth and a trash bag.
tie shirt:
Pull on the bottom right corner of the shirt and the top left shoulder to begin the assembly process.
Wrap the shirt along this line.
Then add cable ties. The zipper should be at the bottom corner first, then reach the shoulder... The last section (which will be blue) should include the sleeves and collar.
I made 2 shirts, one with 3 red stripes, the other with 5... but there should be an odd number of red stripes. So the bottom line of blue is red, and the hem of the shirt itself is red.
Then place the T-shirt on the cake stand. This stance is very important because it keeps the shirts off the table, so extra stains fall off and the shirt does not get wet and does not discolor in the Cubic Poodle.
shirt color:
Fill the bottle to the brim with hot water and shake until well mixed. Follow the instructions on the package.
Add blue to most of the shirt.
Add red to the side line of the blue part, then skip the next part to keep it white. Continue this pattern to the end.
Then turn the shirt inside out and fill in the back with the same color.
Repeat for the larger shirt with additional stripes. These 2 shirts use all the colors of the bottle.
Set aside for hours:
Then place the shirt in a plastic bag and wrap it carefully so that the shirt does not touch the rest of the bag. Wrapping your shirt in cling film is also a good start. Then dry the plastic bag in the sun for 6-8 hours.
wash shirt:
After the curing time has elapsed, carefully remove the shirt from the bag and wash it in the sink. Carefully remove the tie with scissors and wash the shirt until the water runs clear.
Then launder regularly and machine wash. This direct wash helps to wash colors against each other with white lines.
After drying, the color will become a little lighter. It makes it easy and a great shirt! Gather large groups and create groups with friends. This Tulip Tie Punch Party Box comes in a variety of colors perfect for a fun boot!
