Mini Leather Refillable Notebooks DIY!

DIY Reusable Leather Mini Notebook!

Create a mini leather notebook with refilled inserts to be the perfect on-the-go notebook. There are not many notebooks or sketchbooks. This adorable little book is reusable making it perfect for children or to keep in your bag.

And they make great gifts too!

I can't get enough of these adorable reusable notebooks that are 20% nicer because they are so small! Everything is better when he is young!

Below is a video tutorial for the full version, which is very similar to the mini version. I actually use leather pieces from full size to mini size!

Consumables needed for reusable leather mini notebooks:

Leather waste 5" x 3".
Extension cut 1/4" to 8" and 7 1/4"
The paper is cut to 4.5 x 2.5 inches.

Step One: Cut and prepare the skin

Start by cutting 5" x 3" pieces of leather. Then mark the 2.5" and 1/4" center line on either side of the center line.

Step Two: Make the holes

Mark 1/2 inch from the edge on the lines you drew earlier. Drill holes with Crop-a-Dile.

Then screw the holes into the drilled holes.

Step 3: Attach the strap

Now thread the elastic of the 8 through the holes and tie the ends together in the middle.

Now use a knife to make an X-shaped hole right in the middle of the skin. Then thread a piece of rubber 7 1/4 inches through the hole and bring the ends together inside the crease.

Step 4: Fill with Paper!

Now use the paper cutter to trim the paper to fit this beautiful leather notebook.

The rubber band can now be wrapped around the leather laptop to keep it closed. The perfect little notebook to slip into your purse on the go, great as a gift or to wear on a chain and as a necklace!

That's all!

I love notebooks so much--you can never have too many! This is my newest and most favorite book, because it uses regular paper and is refillable. Fill your leather journal with sketch paper, watercolor paper, kraft paper or just cheap copy paper.

And those lovely notebooks in cereal boxes!
