How to make a DIY rainbow resin pillow
Make beautiful rainbow resin pillows. These fun cherries make a great handmade gift. A simple shower with acrylic paint / resin, these glossy rainbow compositions can be made in less than an hour ... and also drying time. Have you ever tried acrylic sculpture? It's so much fun and exciting for medium art ... I love painting on any surface of my house!
Required Stock:
- Envirotex light pore-on finish high gloss
- Wooden sink
- Fuchsia, yellow and blue acrylic paint
- Mixing cups, mixing sticks, disposable work surfaces and handles
- Firearms or flash rifles
Start by covering your desktop with something accessible. I used a plastic tablecloth. Then place small cups on the table. Divide cookies into molds.
If you hold the benches away from the table, the extra resin may go away instead of being collected.
Then mix the resin according to the package instructions. The Envirotex-Lite High Gloss Resin I use can be compared to repainting 50 times. Mix the resin using the two phase mixing method.
The only way to make sure the resin is working properly is with the right mix. Mix 1 part resin and 1 part hardener for 2 minutes. Then pour the resin in the second glass and stir for a whole minute with the second stick. Now it is ready for use.
Pour the resin into small cups. Pour the pea-like acrylic paint into each cup and mix the paint well. Pink, yellow, blue and white.
Then start pouring pink resin on the top edge of the wooden pillow.
Then add a strip of blue resin to the center of the lower benches.
Finally, add a layer of yellow resin to the bottom of the lower benches.
Now the fun part! Be sure to wear gloves and rub / mix the two colors together. See pink and blue turn and mixed purple. Wipe the gloves with a baby wipe.
Then repeat the process for the blue and yellow ... to make it a little greener.
Then add small strips of white resin to the color changes on the boards below.
Then use a heat gun to blow the resin lightly. This will create any bubbles and move in coastal orbit. You will be like a gurgling foamy beach wave.
Repeat the process for each of the 4 rainbow pillows. Then let the resin dry and heal overnight.
Then quickly remove any dots by smoothing the bottom edge. Hey! They are ready to stand at the coffee table over hot drinks or be a thoughtful DIY gift!
