How to Make Acrylic Ornaments 3 Ways!
How to make acrylic decorations in 3 ways!
Friends, I just discovered acrylic blanks and I really like them. Let me show you three ways to make acrylic jewelry. Which decoration do you like the most?
Decorate the Christmas tree, give presents to your neighbors or create gifts to sell for the holidays! These decorations are minimalist and elegant. Let's start!
Acrylic jewelry is made in 3 ways:
N°1: by hand with a marker and paint
#2: Cut vinyl with Cricut
#3: Engrave with Cricut Maker
Materials needed for acrylic decorations:
Ribbon
paint / brush
permanent marker
permanent vinyl
engraving tool
Acrylic Ornament N° 1. 1: Manuscript in felt pen and paint
Begin by removing the protective layers from the front and back of the acrylic blank.
Then paint very sparingly behind the scenes. Paint it for real and don't cover all the work. Then let the paint dry completely.
Then flip the white acrylic over and use a permanent marker to add a name, fun phrase, monogram or other handwritten lettering to the ornament.
Finally, add a ribbon to tie it to the tree. These personalized decorations make a great gift for neighbors or family...especially to celebrate 2020 as a wonderfully special year.
Acrylic Ornament #1.2: Permanent vinyl cutting with Cricut
Begin by removing the protective layer from the top of the acrylic blank.
Then use the cricut cutter to cut the vinyl. I chose the word Happy! The blank is just under 2 inches in diameter, so the vinyl should be small, but use a bold word to be less condescending. Then wipe off the excess vinyl.
Now transfer the vinyl to the acrylic using Cricut tape and a scraper.
Then remove the transfer tape. Remove the backing from the white acrylic and tie the ribbon to the decoration.
Also perfect for personalized jewelry, neighbor gifts, gift tags and memorial decorations.
Acrylic Ornament #1. 3: Engraved by Cricut Maker
The final embellishment is my new favorite obsession. Check out these acrylic keychains I made last week. Begin by removing the cap from the top of the white acrylic.
Create an image in Cricut Design Space. Select the Burn option. I think it's better to choose a "drawn" image and a "written" font.
Then line up the image on the mat and seal the edges, insert the engraving tool and click OK.
Then remove the tape and watch what a beautiful engraving! I like how it went. It's subtle and stylish. Add some background color as the first decoration if you want it to stand out!
Then tie it with a ribbon and hang it on the Christmas tree! Perfect DIY decorations perfect for the holidays!
So... what do you like the most?
