Hogwarts House Bunting Made with Cricut
Made with Hogwarts House Bunting Cricut!
Which house at Hogwarts will you be in this back-to-school season? I guess I'm a Ravenclaw girl...but probably because I like most of those colors. Make this vinyl the perfect backdrop for a Harry Potter themed party or classroom with our Hogwarts home decorations.
It's very easy to make an amazing home gun banner / banner! Yes, it requires special accessories...but the possibilities are endless when you have a Cricut .
Each weapon is a licensed Harry Potter Cricut Design Space image available for purchase. I also bought all the Harry Potter models because I love the ease of use. Each weapon is $1.99, or you can buy all HP models in one bundle.
Thinking of doing a homework lesson in Harry Potter...
Hogwarts Homeschool Accessories:
black mark
Sewing machine or hot glue gun
Cordue
Iron vinyl (red, blue, yellow, green, black, gray... no need for white)
Rotary cutter / cutting mat or scissors
Cricut Design Space Images (must be purchased through Cricut)4 Pictures of Harry Potter House Pride Crest
Step 1: Cut the plant
The magic of images is that little or no effort is put into them. The design is exactly the size you want...my length is 7 inches. Flip the image to cut the design upside down.
Click the Make button and enter the iron. Lay the shiny/smooth veneer surface down on the rug. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space will tell you what color it is.
Then cut the vinyl as close to the cut line as possible to store the product.
Then remove the excess vinyl from the finished designs.
Repeat this process for each layer. There are 3 layers for each edge.
Gather to see what they look like.
Step Two: Black Felt Water Bottle
Then collect 4 black beads. These pieces measure 9 x 12 inches. Fold in half and place the ruler on the bottom edge. Place it on the open sides and tilt the ruler 1.5 inches.
Then use the rotary cutter to cut the slit from the bottom edge.
Repeat every 4 barrels.
Step 3: Ironing with EasyPress
Now place the black felt on the EasyPress mat and place the bottom layer of the comb...the gray...on top of the barley.
Then EasyPress press the first layer for only 15 seconds. Note temperature should be 280 degrees *
Let the iron cool and then remove the protective film.
Then add the next layer of comb onto your pre-press iron.
Press again for 15 seconds and let it cool completely. (I flip each box and when I've finished all four, the first box will cool down.)
As before, remove the back layer and apply the next layer of veneer.
Press again for 15 seconds. 15 If you don't want to glue enough, do more...but each layer will be hotter and you don't want to overdo it.
The last layer is the name of the comb. Put the name in the right place and use a touch from a previous layer to hide everything. You do not want the EasyPress to touch the iron directly.
Press for 30 seconds, then let the iron cool completely one last time.
You don't look good! These fun shirt designs look great too!
Now fold over the top of the barley and work...or hot glue.
Then tie the thread along the folded edge. I looked at the order in which the tables were arranged at Hogwarts ... and Slytherin and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff and then Gryffindor.
Add tassels to the ends of the rope and hang!
Perfect for a lavish banquet hall! I really like how easy it is to create and how amazing it was!
In which house do you think Hufflepuff is too overlooked. However, it looks like a beautiful home.
I read Harry Potter books with my two older kids about 8 years ago. That means my 11-year-old hasn't heard or read the entire book. We decided it was time for him to spend all his time at home. We'll be partying with Butter Bears and a Harry Potter party first. Happy sixth!
