Floral Painted Easter Eggs Dyed with Tombow Markers

Easter eggs are painted with flowers! Egg painting has never been my favorite craft. Ever since I was little I didn't like painting or killing eggs...but now I'm addicted! Also an easy project: crack eggs with markers, then add color to make loose flowers.

They are beautiful and would look perfect on the Easter table... bright hues and pastels.

Step 1: Boil eggs

Cook the eggs according to the Hamilton Beach Egg Cooker's instructions. Eggs take about 18 minutes to cook. No brown/bluish cast around the yellow, perfect every time!

Supply of Easter eggs:

Cooking is fast, cooking 7 hard-to-boil eggs in about 18 minutes.

PE bag or PE film
small vaporizer
detail brush

Step 2: Color the hard boiled eggs

Start drawing with markers on the plastic bag.

It will be weak, but don't worry.

Then spray the plastic bag with a spray bottle.

Place the egg in the center of the bag.

Look for the pouch around the egg and watch the colors mix and match.

Open the bag to see the color explosion!

Use a towel to gently wipe away excess ink.

Repeat with all the shades and colors. Let it dry completely.

Step 3: Draw flowers on the eggs.

Now take some handmade acrylic paint and a small round brush.

Don't be afraid of these colors... it takes seconds and they are so subtle!

Hold the egg with your unprepared hand.

Use a small circle brush to add two balloons.

Then we add U-shaped balloons in the middle.

Again add balloons around the petals.

Add a few small dots in the middle.

Add leaves and other flowers!

It is!

These white flowers are easier as I wanted to show the crayon of a small area...they are more of a watercolour.
