Downton Abbey Inspired 1920's Garden Party!
Downton Abbey Inspired a 1920s Garden Party!
Bring the perfect movie premiere party or celebrate 20 years with the Roaring Twenties party!
Let's start from the beginning.
I like to dress up. It's like my favorite hobby. I usually just wear black yoga pants and a black shirt...but I like to dress up. So of course I like to party with fun dress codes...and the best costume PRIZES!
The perfect table for a party in the 20s:
This table is very simple but elegant.
- Lace Covered Plastic Tablecloth
- Yo-yo-fans pendants in rose gold
- Stacked Serving Containers
- Polished silver tea set
- art deco
- fairy light curtain
For an inexpensive party or bachelorette party, guests can bring refreshments to share. I have always been amazed at the amount of candy at the girls party!
I set up another table for the food that the guests brought to the party. I had a pot full of meatballs and a box of 30 creams.
I purchased this beautiful RED dress from Goodwill when I lived in Alabama about 5 years ago. I have never used one. Last year I thought about dressing up for Halloween... but it was too tight.
Luckily I recovered this year and the dress fits me like a dream. The three layers make this dress very delicious!
This flared skirt was released
Or that fantastic gold and black
A guest also wore a wig... can you get it???
It had a separate table for parties and crafts. The guests put together tassels with clips and had to choose a hair clip to take home.
Here are the consumables I used: Offlink

The best part about hosting a girls' night out is that you don't need a lot of entertainment. They are happy to talk to each other and enjoy the party. If you have a family, it is a fun way to organize games for children.
Silver so well polished that Mr. Carson will be proud of! Burn Pattmore Pies! Find anything art deco, geometric, gold, lace, crowns, palettes, silver, china and anything!
Okay, let's talk about 1920s hairstyles. Scope: I'm not a beauty blogger. Although the Crowley girls have long hair, they still wear it. I decided to give it a try. I have very long hair, but I curled up with a little curl.
They were finally a foot shorter than my straight hair! I curled everything up and then brushed it gently to smooth out the waves. I used bobby pins to push my curls back and forth to mark my face and sprayed it with hairspray. I then put a bandage on the rhinestones and removed the cuts.
I then divided my hair into 2 parts and twisted it back to make it look a bit front and cut it short. Below I have fixed some stealth.
This faux bob is always a fun look for people with long hair like me. I put peacocks on the headband to complete the look. Then add the bangs and a long necklace and you are golden.
Costume contest:
This is how I organize my costume contests without a special jury:
I give each guest 3 carnival tickets. They shuffle, walk around, and hand out tickets to three people who like their costumes. The guests then count the tickets and see who has the most, who has the most, and so on. I recommend the top 3 sets with prizes.
So everyone has a chance to vote... if you really like someone's costume, you can give them 3 tickets. I'm not going to let myself win my competition, so I ask you not to... or give it to others.
The first prize went to a gold and pearl tiara.
Second place went to a sequined clutch.
Thrid Place won the pearl and rock crystal necklace
Who do you think won the costume contest?
That's it! I hope this gives you some confidence and some fun ideas for planning your Roaring Twenties party!
