Rae Dunn Inspired Salt and Pepper Shakers DIY
Rae Dunn's DIY Inspired Salt and Pepper Shaker
Make the perfect "No Salt" and "Not Pepper" cocktails for April Fools' Day! This fun Rae Dun-inspired craft is easy to make using Cricut stickers and vinyl.
In minutes you'll have the most mind-boggling spice container for April Fools' Day dinner, white elephant gifts, or just to be unique!
What is salt and what is pepper? It's ridiculous, but I confused them!
Are you a fan of salt?
I am not sure. I like salt in popcorn, but that's about it. My family loves salt. My husband in particular. Salt everything, even oranges and watermelons! When you go to the doctor, he or she measures your blood pressure and then asks you to add more salt to your diet . I'm always very surprised!
So I let him salt what he wanted.
Stock Required:
- Ice machine cricket maker
- black vinyl
- transfer tape
- ceramic spice mixer
Step 1: Source
Start with Rae Dunn's knockout font, I have 5 free sizes at the bottom of this post.
Then use it in the Cricut Design Space and write the title of the shaker.
Step 2: Cut
Then place the vinyl sticker on the mat and have Cricut cut the letters.
Step Three: Grass
Now peel off the vinyl and cut out each sticker. It is easier to remove the weeds into small pieces. This thin lettering can be a little tricky, so take your time to remove the vinyl residue.
Step 4: Convert
Now place the transfer tape over the vinyl and remove the background. Then place the vinyl in a salt and pepper shaker and smooth it out with a scraper or credit card.
This!
Your messy salt and pepper polisher is ready to debut! Children love to know what is in each container because it only tells you what is not in each container.

I'm a big April Fool's fan, it's my daughter's birthday. It was the craziest day of my life, having a baby on April Fools' Day, because my dad had a heart attack on the same day and was in the same hospital as me. This year I'm excited for my daughter's 18th birthday and my parents can still celebrate with us!
