Joyful Anthropologie Inspired Pom-Pom Pillow!
A pillowcase, inspired by colorful anthropology!
What joy this pompom pillow gives me! I love offbeat festive colors. I love the textures and the layers. Shine!
Create a beautiful anthropology-inspired pom pom pillow in this fun and easy tutorial. Joy uses iron-on glitter vinyl as well as colorful trims and pom poms!
Finishing with a pom pom is almost non-existent.
Short story: When I was about 16 years old, I attended a youth conference at Camp Williams (a nearby military base). My girlfriend Kirsten and I were lucky enough to be in a military environment, so we went to Severs and bought camo military pants.
The pants size was too masculine and we decided we could fix it. We take her home and start decorating. We made fluorescent triangular panels from the bottom up like a bell.
To close them, we add a green finish with a pom pom at the bottom. Let's just say that we stood out more in our team and that we liked the army there!
Big truth!? Now you see where I got this pillow idea from! I was happy to be invited to attend Pillow Party 2019 with a great group of bloggers. (Don't worry, Pillow Party 2021 is coming soon!)
I bought a pillow cover with a pom pom finish here on Amazon . (affiliate link)

I developed this design in Photoshop and brought it into the cricket design space. I added the image 3 times and then removed the outline so each character could have a different color. Right click to save, for personal use only please.
Align the characters and press EasyPress 2 .
Let the vinyl cool down and unclip the back cover.
Then I collected all the decorations with the pom poms and the candy that I got, I also got these sparkly gold sequins.
I used fabric pots to tie the finishes to the pom pom on the pillow. This thing is amazing!
Add the line of glue and then press finish. It fits very quickly and takes all the sewing pressure out of the project! Yes!
I kept adding parts of the character in strategic places and finally glowed, trying to mimic an ethnographically colorful window. If I had more energy, I would use a needle and thread to add more. But I am very happy with the results and with a little effort!
I let the glue run for a few hours and then put the pillow on. I really like the way it came out! Isn't it ridiculous to be inspired by a trip to Manhattan?
In October 2019, I was vacationing outdoors in the Turks and Caicos Islands with 2 friends on social media ( read more here ).
On the way home we had a long vacation in New York. It was my first time in the city, so we packed up at the airport and took a taxi to Manhattan. It was so much fun and gave us a little vacation along with our tropical vacation.
It was raining and cold, but that didn't stop us from seeing what was possible in such a short time. My favorite, or most inspiring, was the ethnographic showcase. Watch:

I cut red, yellow and pink vinyl. The best thing about this project was that I used everything I had and only had to buy pillows.
Align the characters and press EasyPress 2 .

They had a second window where the word "hooray" was written... Beautiful too, but the flower of joy melted my heart.
