How to make a juicy buttonhole with Boutstix
The wedding, prom, Mother's Day, and formal season are upon us! Instead of spending too much money on an overpriced buttonhole, learn how to make a simple buttonhole. These pretty boutonnieres are easy to make and perfect to wear with Boutstix 's floral magnetic clasp without writing through clothing or flesh.
Boutstix sent me a few packs of their flower magnets after I contacted them about their product! I tried one on while helping a friend make a boutonniere for her daughter's prom. It is magic!

During my freshman year of high school, I was asked to attend my first formal dance, Homecoming. Only at the last minute my friend asked me if I had already bought a boutine for it. I didn't even know it was a trick! I ran into the store the day before the dance and all they had was $18. I was impressed! So expensive for something I knew I could do myself.
Another terrible buttonhole story was my senior year, the Yule Ball. I bought a boutineer for my date and put it on and SNAP! The entire rose head was cut in half and the prey destroyed. Her mom helped me assemble it with the pen so I could still use it, but it was a lot of money wasted.
This is the LAST buttonhole I bought. Learn from me and create your own.
This adorable boutonniere tutorial shows you how to make one with silly and fancy options. It easily adapts to real flowers, silk flowers, real succulents and more...

Accessories needed for a juicy buttonhole with Boutstix:
- juicy options
- headband
- Boutstix flower magnet
- candytuft
Step 1: Group
Begin by connecting any stems or tops of the succulents or flowers so that all the stems are interlaced.
Step 2: Flip!
Then wrap the bunched ends of the flowers or selections with floral tape.
The floral ribbon feels like paper but has adhesive that activates with a slight stretch. Gently pull on the tape as you wrap the stems.
So it sticks when rolled up and easily conforms to any irregular shape. It can get a little sticky, so take it slow and work carefully.
Wrap until package is secure.
Step 3Boutstix
Now place the long piece of Boutstix on the back of the wrapped package.
Wrap from the top of the wrap and proceed and also cover the magnets, they are strong enough to stick.
Then continue to the end of Boutstix.
Step 4: Beautify
That's the fun part! Decorate the buttonhole as you like. I know most guys who wear them want to keep them pretty simple... so I went for a bow. It's the perfect way to combine the buttonhole with the dress!
You can also add spikes, bows and more with rhinestones. They can be wrapped with succulents or then glued in/on/around. I generally wear more bracelets than buttonholes.
