Learn how to make a monkey keychain for a great DIY gift. This fun product is perfect for older kids, especially teenagers. This is a great gift for your teen to give to his friends or family.
We love to make Christmas gifts with our own hands. Each parent's child gives each a gift. This is the highlight of the holiday. This instantly changes the attitude from "What am I going to get for Christmas" to "I can't wait for them to open the gift I gave you". I love this mental shift when I think of others before me.
I called my 18 year old son to help me with this project. He is an expert whip maker, Grand Champion Whip Cracker 2020, check his Instagram here. He worked a lot with the paratroopers in making the whips, so it was a fairly easy craft for him.
For this post, I got this post from Strapworks . Related links are included.
Strapworks has all the straps, straps, threads, fasteners and more. I know their parachute hooks are perfect for monkey punching hooks.
Sometimes it is difficult to get older children to make crafts or gifts with their own hands. So much fun for this age group. These keychains are great - they have the skill to make them, but it just comes naturally to them.
They are also great gifts for men, sometimes hard to come by. This cool keychain is perfect for picking up keys or zipping up your backpack.
Here is a video showing the process.
Materials needed for the Monkey Fist paracord keychain.
Marble
Scissors
lighter
Step 1: Cut the fence
Start with a 5.5-6 inch section of the fence. 6 feet is great if you want to make a necklace, 5.5 feet is enough for a key ring.
Step 2. Wrap
Now start 6 inches from one end of the tray. Wrap the yarn around your finger 3 times. Then thread the thread between two fingers as shown in the image so that the thread returns to the palm of your hand.
Then wrap 3 loops, 3 loops.
Extend the ends of the grid with the center of the loop with the last knot.
Step 3. Marble
Now place the beads on the ring ring.
Step 4 Wrap again
Now wrap the parapet around the marble 3 times.
Have you noticed my child's "special" fingers? He's left-handed, so I was wondering if this lesson might confuse us lefties. However, since he didn't have a finger on his right hand, he held onto the cord like I did… so he pulled it back.
Step 5: fasten
Now ready to stretch to stretch. Starting from the end of the row continues to the end of the other row.
Step 6 Tighten again
After passing the cord, squeeze it as tightly as possible, repeat the process, it will actually pull the cord on the marble.
Repeat this process for each color of the parade and make a bunch of handmade gifts for family and friends.
Complete the key ring with a metal buckle.
Insert the fittings into the two monkey bracelets.
Then wrap the clamp in a knot around the fitting and tighten it very tightly. Then cut the ends with scissors and burn the nylon ends with a lighter. Let them cool, fine.
Turn it into a customizable necklace. It can be a loose necklace or a death grip.
