How to make a parachute key?
Learn how to make a tied key with a paracord to get a great handmade gift! This fun product is perfect for kids, especially teenagers. It will be a great gift for your children to make them friends or family.
We love making our own Christmas presents. Every child and parent makes a gift for everyone with their own hands. This is the main holiday! He immediately changes his attitude from “what I get for Christmas” to “I didn’t expect to open a gift”. I like this mental change of thinking about others before I think about myself.
I kidnapped my 18-year-old son to help him with this project. He is an expert on whip production and a grand champion of Whip Cracker 2020, check out his Instagram here. He works a lot with a parachute to make a whip, so for him it’s a pretty easy job.
I got this parachute from Strapworks in exchange for this post. Including affiliate links.
Strapworks has all the straps, straps, laces, ears and more! I knew their choice of parachute and key hooks was perfect for clenching a monkey’s fist.
Sometimes it is difficult for older children to be interested in crafts or home gifts. It’s fun for this age group. These devices are beautiful and require craftsmanship, but they turn out very natural.
These are also great gifts for men - they are sometimes hard to find. This gorgeous snap key is perfect for tracking keys or attaching them to a chain in a backpack!

Step 1: Cut the parachute
Start by reducing the length of the forearm by 5.5-6 feet. 6 feet is great if you want to make a necklace, 5.5 feet is enough for a brace.
Step 2: Assemble
Start at a distance of 6 inches from one end of the parachute and wrap the cord with your fingers 3 times. Then connect the cable as shown between the 2 fingers so that the cable extends to the back of the palm.
Then assemble the 3 rings with the other 3 rings.
With the last loop, pull the end of the parachute out of the center of the loop.
Step 3: Marble
Now put the marble on the parachute ring.
Step 4: Wrap again
Now wrap the parachute around the marble three times.
Do you understand my son’s “special” fingers? It’s on the left, so if this tutorial can confuse the right. However, since he doesn't have the fingers of his right hand, he holds the thread like me ... so get going!
Step 5: Tighten
Now he is ready to pull hard. Start at the end of the string and continue to the other end of the string.
Step 6: Tighten again
After skipping the cord and tightening it as much as possible, continue and repeat the process that will tighten the marble predecessor.
Repeat this process for pacifiers of each color and make some handmade gifts for friends and family!
Fill the key with a metal lid.
Slide the device into both monkey parachute ropes.
Then twist the cap around the device into a knot and tighten very tightly. Then trim the edges with scissors and lighten the nylon edges with a lighter. Let cool and ready!
Turn another into an adjustable collar! It can be narrow like a wide collar or a round neck.
Here is a video on how to tie this knot:
That's all! I still have a lot of prerequisites for other monkey fist keys! Make some and share them on social media; then mark me to enjoy you!
