Hogwarts House Bunting Made with Cricut
Pennant of Hogwarts with Cricut!
Where will you be at Hogwarts this summer? I think I'm a Ravenclaw son... but maybe that's because I like those colors better. Make this layered Hogwarts vinyl banner the perfect backdrop for a themed or Harry Potter themed party.
This beautiful home banner is easy to make! Yes, it takes special tools... but when you have a cricket, the chances are endless.
Each logo is an image of Harry Potter-licensed design site Creek. I also liked the ease of use so I bought all of the Harry Potter graphics. Each icon costs $1.99, or you can buy all the features of the HP package.
I plan to spend the school year in the style of Harry Potter...
Materials for Hogwarth Endurance
Black hair
Sewing machine or hot glue gun
Rope
Iron: stable vinyl (red, blue, yellow, green, black, grey... white is not required)
Rotating cutting/cutting mat or scissors
Cricket Design Space images (must be purchased from Cricut)4. House of Harry Potter, proud coat of arms.
Step 1: Cut the metal
The magic of the paintings was almost effortless. Just resize the designs to your liking... My designs are 7 inches tall. Copy the image so that the pattern is copied.
Click the "Create" button and paste the metal. Place the winch on the floor facing a shiny surface. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space will tell you what color to look for next.
Then cut the vinyl as much as possible along the cut line to preserve the product.
Then wipe off the excess vinyl from the cutouts.
Repeat the same process for each layer. Each face has 3 layers.
Come together to see what it looks like.
Step 2: Black Hair Flags
Then take 4 pieces of black felt. These pieces measure 9 x 12 inches. Fold it in the middle and place a ruler on the bottom edge. Place it straight on the open corners and rotate the ruler 1.5 inches from the center of the fold.
Then use the circular cutter to cut a slit on the bottom edge.
Repeat for all 4 browns.
Step 3: Iron on EasyPress
Now place the black banner on the EasyPress mat and place the bottom layer of the banner... gray... on top of the banner.
Then hold the first layer with EasyPress for only 15 seconds. The temperature of the felt should be 280°C.
Let the metal cool, then remove the back cover.
Then apply the next layer of the comb previously applied to the metal and plaster.
Press again for 15 seconds and let cool completely. (I rode every ridge and when I did all 4 the first one was cold.)
Remove the backing plate as before and apply the next layer of metal to the vinyl.
Press again for 15 seconds. If you don't think 15 is enough, make it a little longer...but we don't want to overheat each layer over and over again.
The last cover is the name of the hills. Place the name in the right place and use the background paper from the previous layer to cover everything. You don't want the EasyPress to touch the metal directly.
Press for 30 seconds, then let the metal cool completely once.
You look bad! These fun patterns look great on shirts too!
Now fold over the top of the banner...or glue it on.
Then pass the rope over the bent end. I looked at the order in which the tables were arranged at Hogwarts... and found Slaterrin, Ravenclaw, Huffelphuff, and then Griffiner.
Add jars to the ends of the rope and hang up!
Ideal for a large banquet hall! I love how easy it is to create and how good it was!
What house do you have? I think Huffelf is often overlooked. However, it looks like a nice house.
I read the Harry Potter books with my two older children 8 years ago. This means that my 11 year old daughter has never heard or read a book before. We decided it was kindergarten year and he should read all the books. We start with butterbeer and a Harry Potter themed party . With sixth grade!
What does schooling look like? Distance learning, homeschooling or back to school?
no more!
