Step 1: Cut metal transitions

Image magic requires little or no effort. Just resize the model to the size you want... it's 7 inches tall. Rotate the image to reverse the pattern.

Step 1: Cutting the Iron-on The magic of the images, is that there is little or no effort involved. Just size the designs to the desired size...mine are 7 inches tall. Mirror the image so it cuts the design in reverse.

Click the Create button and grab the metal sign. Cover with vinyl varnish. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space tells you what colors to look for.

Click the Make button and insert the iron-on. Place the iron-on vinyl on the mat with the shiny/slick surface facing down. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space will let you know which color comes next.

Then cut as many strips of vinyl as possible to save the product.

Then trim down the vinyl as close as you can to the cut line to save product.

Then remove the excess vinyl from the trimmed design.

Then weed the excess vinyl from the cut out designs.

Repeat this process for each layer. There are 3 layers per sleeve.

Repeat this same process for each of the layers. There are 3 layers for each crest.

Get together to see what they look like.

Stack them up together to see how they will look.

Stage 2: Peas with black eyes

Then get 4 black felts. These pieces measure 9 x 12 inches. Fold it in half and place a ruler on the bottom edge. Place it directly on the open end and turn the handle toward the center of the 1.5-inch bend.

Step 2: Black Felt Buntings Then get 4 pieces of black felt. These pieces measure 9x12 inches. Fold it in half and place the ruler at the bottom edge. Place it right on the open ended corners and angle the ruler up 1.5 inches to the folded center.

Then use a rotary cutter to trim the top edge.

Then use a rotary cutter to cut the notch out of the bottom edge.

Repeat operation for 4 chestnuts.

Felt is a great stiff surface for buntings and banners

Step 3: Back to EasyPress

Now place the black pentagon on top of the EasyPress base and place the bottom crane cover ... gray ... on the pendulum.

Step 3: EasyPress Iron-on Now place the black felt bunting on the EasyPress mat and place the bottom layer of the crest...the gray one...on the bunting.

Then press the first layer with EasyPress for only 15 seconds. The pressure temperature should be 280 ° C *.

Then press with the EasyPress for just 15 seconds on the first layer. Pressing felt temperatures should be 280*

Allow the transfer to cool and remove the film.

Let the iron-on cool down and then peel off the carrier sheet.

Then add the next bend to the pre-assembled metal plate.

Then add the next layer of the crest on top of the previously pressed iron-on.

Press again for 15 seconds and let it cool completely. (I walked with each comb and after finishing all four combs the first one cooled down).

Press again for 15 seconds and let it cool down completely. (I rotate through each crest and when I've done all 4, the first has cooled.)

As before, remove the back cover and add the next metal vinyl cover.

Same as before, remove the carrier sheet and add the next layer of iron on vinyl.

Press again for 15 seconds. 15 If it doesn't look sticky enough, do a little more... but each layer will heat up again and again and we don't want to overload it.

Press again for 15 seconds. If 15 doesn't feel like it's adhering enough, do it a little longer...but it's heating each layer repeatedly and we don't want to over do it.

The last layer is the name of the symbol. Put the name in the right place and use the protective paper on the previous layer to cover everything. You don't want EasyPress to start working.

Final layer is the name of the crest. Place the name on the proper space and use a carrier sheet from a previous layer to cover the entire thing. You don't want the EasyPress to touch the iron-on directly.

Press for 30 seconds and allow the pan to cool completely one last time.

Press for 30 seconds and then let the iron-on cool down completely for the last time.

Now fold it over the pen and sew ... or hot glue.

Now fold over the top edge of the bunting and sew it across...or hot glue it.

Then thread the wire from the folded edge. I looked at the Hogwarts table . . . and Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and then Griffindor left.

Then thread the cording through the folded over edge. I looked up which order the tables are set up in Hogwarts...and it goes Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and then Gryffindor.

Add some pellets to the end of the rope and hang on!

Add some tassels on the ends of the cord and hang it up!

I read the Harry Potter books with my kids 8 years ago. That means my 11 year old son has never heard the whole book. We decided it would be the end of the school year. For starters, we celebrated with Butter Beer and Harry Potter Party . Happy 6!

I read the Harry Potter books with my oldest kids about 8 years ago. That means my baby, who is now 11, has never actually heard or read the full books. We decided that this is the homeschool year for him to get through all the books. We are going to celebrate with Butter Beers and a Harry Potter Party to kick it off. Happy 6th grade!
