Supplies Needed for Hogwarts House Bunting: Black Felt Sewing Machine or Hot Glue Gun Cord Cricut Maker (of other Cricut machine) Iron-on Vinyl (in red, blue, yellow, green, black and gray...no white needed) Cricut EasyPress 2 EasyPress Mat Rotary Cutter/Cutting Mat or Scissors Cricut Design Space Images (must be purchased through Cricut) 4 Harry Potter House Pride Crest Images

Step 1: Cut your ironing board

The magic of painting lies in the fact that it takes very little effort to create it. Size is just a design for the size you want... mine is 7 inches long. Flip the image so it crops the design upside down.

Step 1: Cutting the Iron-on The magic of the images, is that there is little or no effort involved. Just size the designs to the desired size...mine are 7 inches tall. Mirror the image so it cuts the design in reverse.

Click on the "Create" button and enter the iron. Lay the vinyl pad on the carpet with the glossy/smooth side down. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space will tell you which color will appear next.

Click the Make button and insert the iron-on. Place the iron-on vinyl on the mat with the shiny/slick surface facing down. Repeat the cutting process for each color. Cricut Design Space will let you know which color comes next.

Then cut the vinyl as close to the cut line as possible to protect the product.

Then trim down the vinyl as close as you can to the cut line to save product.

Then remove any excess vinyl from the cutout.

Then weed the excess vinyl from the cut out designs.

Repeat the same process for each layer. Each top has 3 layers.

Repeat this same process for each of the layers. There are 3 layers for each crest.

Connect them to see what they look like.

Stack them up together to see how they will look.

Step 2 Pumpkin

Then take 4 pieces of black feta. These pieces measure 9 x 12 inches. Fold it in half and place a ruler under it. Place it at a right angle: bend the ruler 1.5 inches up towards the center of the fold.

Step 2: Black Felt Buntings Then get 4 pieces of black felt. These pieces measure 9x12 inches. Fold it in half and place the ruler at the bottom edge. Place it right on the open ended corners and angle the ruler up 1.5 inches to the folded center.

Then use a disc cutter to cut a notch from the bottom edge.

Then use a rotary cutter to cut the notch out of the bottom edge.

Repeat for all 4 barleys.

Felt is a great stiff surface for buntings and banners

Step 3: Ironing with EasyPress

Now place the barley on the EasyPress mat, place the bottom layer... gray և on top of the barley:.

Step 3: EasyPress Iron-on Now place the black felt bunting on the EasyPress mat and place the bottom layer of the crest...the gray one...on the bunting.

Then press the first layer with EasyPress in just 15 seconds. Print temperature should be 280*

Then press with the EasyPress for just 15 seconds on the first layer. Pressing felt temperatures should be 280*

Let the iron cool down, then remove the backing.

Let the iron-on cool down and then peel off the carrier sheet.

Then add a layer of beams onto the pre-pressed iron.

Then add the next layer of the crest on top of the previously pressed iron-on.

Press again for 15 seconds և let it cool completely. (I rotate each vertex, և if I do all four, the first one hangs).

Press again for 15 seconds and let it cool down completely. (I rotate through each crest and when I've done all 4, the first has cooled.)

As before, remove the protective sheet, add a layer of iron to the vinyl.

Same as before, remove the carrier sheet and add the next layer of iron on vinyl.

Press again for 15 seconds. If 15 doesn't feel sticky enough, make it a little longer...but keep heating each layer, we don't want to overdo it.

Press again for 15 seconds. If 15 doesn't feel like it's adhering enough, do it a little longer...but it's heating each layer repeatedly and we don't want to over do it.

The last level is the name of the icon. Put the name in the correct place. Use a drop from the previous layer to cover everything. You don't want the EasyPress to touch the iron directly.

Final layer is the name of the crest. Place the name on the proper space and use a carrier sheet from a previous layer to cover the entire thing. You don't want the EasyPress to touch the iron-on directly.

Press for 30 seconds և Let the iron cool down completely for the last time.

Press for 30 seconds and then let the iron-on cool down completely for the last time.

You don't look great. This fun design would also look great on a shirt.

Don't they look great! These fun Harry Potter Hogwarts house crest designs would be awesome on a shirt too!

Now fold over the top edge of the barley, process...or glue it while hot.

Now fold over the top edge of the bunting and sew it across...or hot glue it.

Then pull the rope through the folded edge. I was looking for a table at Hogwarts... it was Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, then Gryffindor.

Then thread the cording through the folded over edge. I looked up which order the tables are set up in Hogwarts...and it goes Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and then Gryffindor.

Add some veils to the ends of the wires and hang them up.

Add some tassels on the ends of the cord and hang it up!

It is ideal for a large banquet hall. I love how easy it is to make and what amazing results.

What house are you in? I think Hufflepuff is very run down. However, it looks like a cool house.

Which house do you belong in? I think Hufflepuff gets overlooked a lot. It seems like a cool house though.

I read the Harry Potter books with my oldest son about 8 years ago. This means that my child, who is now 11, has never heard or read the entire book. We decided that it would be a home school year for him to read all the books. Let's start with the Butter Bears և Harry Potter Party . Congratulations 6th grade.

I read the Harry Potter books with my oldest kids about 8 years ago. That means my baby, who is now 11, has never actually heard or read the full books. We decided that this is the homeschool year for him to get through all the books. We are going to celebrate with Butter Beers and a Harry Potter Party to kick it off. Happy 6th grade!
