Already drunk? It was my first and I love the intense shine! Make a shiny mug for the perfect handmade gift ... perfect for school teachers, friends or family.
Personalize them with your favorite colors or names and intensity of brightness. This is a great reminder of the need to drink plenty of water every day ... or perfect for a hot drink on a cold morning.
It shines like a beacon in the sun! Note that it is not safe to wash in the dishwasher ... but I would still not put a stainless steel mug in the dishwasher. To be safe, just wash it by hand. Let's start!
Necessary accessories for a glass of shiny resin:
Cut chrome-plated vinyl using Cricut Maker
artist's tape
medical alcohol
sandpaper
Turner Cup (or is it double! )
Step 1: Medical alcohol!
Start by cleaning the glass with alcohol.
Step 2: Sewer tape!
Then tape the top and bottom of the cup with blue tape.
Step 3: Brilliant!
Start applying shiny paint to the visible cup. Cover all the glass and let it dry. Then mix the modpojla with thick glitter and rub in a mug. Then allow to dry completely.
Step 4: Cricut Vinyl!
Use Cricut Maker to cut an expression or name out of metal vinyl or cling film.
When the glass is completely dry, sand the gloss so that the surface is smooth enough to stick vinyl on it. Pull the cut vinyl cup just above the glitter.
Step 5: Spin the trophy!
Now we need a station for turning the cups to prepare the resin.
Lathes are cheap and quite popular, so you should probably buy them! But if you want to do it with your own hands, here’s a temporary version.
I used a long dowel pierced through holes in a cardboard box. Then to the end of the thorn is inserted a piece of noodles for the pool.
Step 6: Resin!
Now mix the shiny resin according to the instructions on the package.
Mix well in 2 steps.
Now distribute the resin on the glass with a mixing stick ... to the turntable. Rotate slowly and continuously for the first 30 minutes.
The power plant here would be fantastic! If you have a strong station, just let it run for 4 hours and then keep spinning for another 4 hours. Then change the rotation cycle and let it run 24 hours every night.
After turning it over for 30 minutes, use a straw to remove any bubbles that have formed.
Then turn the cup every quarter for the next 30 minutes. Then rotate 1/4 turn every 2-3 minutes ... and continue to rotate regularly for the next 4-5 hours.
Again, purchasing an electric winch will eliminate all wasted time.
After 5 hours, carefully inspect the resin and see how much it has accumulated. If it still looks dirty, continue perming… otherwise let it dry overnight.
Then leave overnight. Remove the adhesive tape the next day.
The tape leaves a clean line, perfect for drinking or holding juice away from the lips. RESIN SAFETY FOR FOOD, so it's not a problem, it's just convenience.
That's it!
Although it’s hard to take a photo with all this shiny resin shine, it looks gorgeous!
